Falling birth rate can lead to an economic decline

LIZ: ALERT, THE NUMBER OF BABIES BORN IN AMERICA LAST YEAR FALLING TO A 32-YEAR LOW, YES, ABOUT 3.79 MILLION BABIES WERE BORN IN 2018 THAT’S A 2% DROP FROM A YEAR AGO SO WITH THE RATE NOW SLIPPING FOUR YEARS IN A ROW WHAT IMPACT DOES THIS FERTILITY SLUMP HAVE ON OUR FUTURE WORKPLACE AND OVERALL ECONOMY? GARY B., TO YOU FIRST.>> WELL, LIZ, IT’S NOT GOOD. YOU KNOW THIS HAS BEEN STUDIED ACTUALLY, THE NATIONAL BUREAU OF ECONOMIC RESEARCH HAS SHOWN THAT LOW FERTILITY RATES ARE DIRECTLY CORRELATED TO LOW ECONOMIC GROWTH. LOOK NO FURTHER THAN EUROPE AND JAPAN IN PARTICULAR. YOU KNOW, LIZ, LET’S JUST SAY THAT THE BASELINE IS ABOUT TWO CHILDREN PER WOMAN IS KIND OF THE REPLACEMENT RATE, IF YOU WILL. BEFORE JAPAN STARTED DROPPING BELOW THAT IN 1975, PRIOR TO THAT THEIR GDP GROWTH WAS AVERAGING ABOUT 6% TO 8% PER YEAR. SINCE THEN IT HAS DECLINED ALMOST CONSECUTIVELY ALL THE WAY DOWN TO ITS BARELY 1% A YEAR, THE SAME AS IN EUROPE. THAT’S WHY GETTING BACK TO OUR FIRST SEGMENT, WE NEED MORE IMMIGRANTS, NOT LESS. WE KEEP GOING THIS RATE, WE’RE GOING TO GO EXACTLY THE WAY EUROPE AND JAPAN HAS DONE, WITH GDP GROWTH.>> GARY: IT’S PRETTY SIMPLE PEOPLE MAKE THE ECONOMY, THE LESS PEOPLE THE LESS POTENTIAL OF THE ECONOMY, AS SIMPLE AS THAT AND GARY IS RIGHT WHEN HE BRINGS UP JAPAN. JAPAN HAS HEAD STRAIGHT DOWNHILL SINCE 1975 AND THEIR MARKETS HAVE HEADED STRAIGHT DOWN SINCE THE 80S AND SOMETHING THAT HAS TO BE ADDRESSED AND THIS AS YOU SAID GARY BRINGS IN THE IMMIGRATION PART THERE. WE’RE GOING TO NEED A LOT MORE PEOPLE AS WE MOVE FORWARD IF THESE NUMBERS CONTINUE.>> JUST JAPAN AND EUROPE EVERYWHERE IN THE WORLD IT’S BRAZIL, IT’S MEXICO BELIEVE IT OR NOT, IT DEPENDS WHERE YOU ARE , IN TERMS OF CLASS. I DON’T THINK THERE’S ANYTHING THAT’S GOING TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS. THE MORE AFFLUENT A SOCIETY IS TO BECOME, THE MORE EDUCATED WOMEN BECOME, THE FEWER CHILDREN THEY HAVE. IT IS TRUE GDP GROWTH WILL GO DOWN STATISTICALLY BUT IF YOU HAVE A PRODUCTIVE ECONOMY, FEWER PEOPLE, THE SAME AMOUNT OF MONEY IS STILL MORE PROSPEROUS. WE’RE NOT USED TO LOOKING AT THESE THINGS THIS WAY BUT THE REALITY IS IF YOU’RE PRODUCING ENOUGH THE SAME FOR FEWER PEOPLE YOU ARE IN FACT DOING SOMEWHAT BETTER BECAUSE IT’S LESS, SO I DON’T THINK THIS IS ALL A MITIGATED DISASTER AND IT IS ALSO AN INEVITIBILITY AND IT’S HAPPENING NOT JUST IN EUROPE.>> THE ONE GIANT EXCEPTION AT LEAST SHORT-TERM ON FERTILITY IS CHINA WHICH HAD THAT HORRIBLE ONE-CHILD POLICY STILL GREW AT 8 -10% A YEAR. WHAT REALLY NEEDS ONE REASON YOU DON’T HAVE THE LOW BIRTH RATE IS PEOPLE DON’T HAVE FAITH IN THE FUTURE. IT’S A SPIRITUAL CRISIS WE’RE NOT SUPPOSED TO DISCUSS THAT HERE BUT IT DOES REFLECT PESSIMISM AND I THINK THAT’S GOING TO CHANGE IF WE MAKE CHANGES AND GET THIS ECONOMY GOING AND PEOPLE FEELING THERE’S A REAL GOOD FUTURE AGAIN. LIZ: WELL AS THE ONE PERSON HERE IN THIS CONVERSATION THAT ACTUALLY HAS TO HAVE THE BABY, LET ME JUST TELL YOU, IF YOU GET EQUAL PAY AND YOU GET WOMEN MORE FINANCIALLY STABLE, THEY FEEL BETTER ABOUT BEING ABLE TO TAKE CARE OF CHILDREN. I AM JUST TELLING YOU THAT ANYBODY WHOSE EDUCATED AND IS THINKING ABOUT THESE THINGS, YOU DON’T SIT THERE AND SAY OH, LET ME JUST HAVE A BABY. YOU THINK HOW AM I GOING TO AFFORD THIS, PAY FOR THAT, WHAT ABOUT FORMULA? IT’S SO EXPENSIVE AND IT DOES COME DOWN TO ECONOMICS.>> BUT I WILL SAY THE MORE EDUCATED WOMEN ARE THROUGHOUT SCANDANAVIA EVEN WITH HUGE HEALTHCARE, WOMEN DO NOT TEND TO WANT TO HAVE MORE THAN TWO TO THREE CHILDREN, ONCE THEY HAVE ACHIEVED A CERTAIN EDUCATION.>> I WONDER WHERE ALL OF THE CRISIS TALK PLAYS INTO THIS. WE ARE HEARING ABOUT EVERYTHING IS A CRISIS, THE WORLD WILL END, EVERYTHING IS A PROBLEM AND YOU READ ALL THE TIME ABOUT PEOPLE SAYING THAT I’M JUST NOT GOING TO HAVE KIDS BECAUSE OF THIS.>> WELL THAT’S THAT PESSIMISM. LIZ: QUICKLY GARY B.>> ONE MORE PROBLEM WE HAVEN’T TALKED ABOUT THOUGH THE SOCIAL SECURITY SYSTEM HAS ALMOST SINCE THE INCEPTION RELIED ON MORE PEOPLE COMING IN AND PAYING FOR THE SYSTEM THAN TAKING OUT. WE FLIPPED THAT SCALE THE OTHER WAY AND WE’RE ALREADY STARTING TO DO THAT WITH MORE RETIREES AND PEOPLE PAYING INTO THE SYSTEM AND NOW YOU HAVE ANOTHER PROBLEM, SOCIAL SECURITY IS ALREADY IN TROUBLE. NOW YOU HAVE LESS FUNDS COMING IN THAT ARE BEING TAKEN OUT. WE HAVE ANOTHER FINANCIAL PROBLEM ON OUR HANDS.>> OH, JOY. LIZ: I DID MY PART I HAVE TWO GREAT KIDS THANK YOU, LADIES AND

Nope. Haven't believed it for a long time. But with the muslims coming in, they're not going to worry about having so few children. Almost none of the women go to college or work, and the man can have 4 so called wives, and they don't have to support themselves. They normally don't worry a out the quality of life of their children. This means they can continue spending their time reproducing. The problem with this video is that they're saying we need more people to work. Work is the operative word here. A high percentage of muslim immigrants stay on welfare. Well just have to import more Mexicans. Future workers who will work.

The Leftists, Liberals, feminists of america do not think so. Where's the problem? Open the floodgates to illiterate, unwashed, unskilled, smelly 'coloureds' – and welcome the rapists, thugs, etc. And cull the Whites of America.

It's really concerned and unhappy news, I do hope birth rates gets increased in United states of America.

  • zaggy3110

Children should not be born into this rotten western world to spare them of the pains and suffering of life.

  • jolibaybay

So that’s why they are forcing women to keep babies they don’t want. Numbers dwindling abortion ban force them to keep the baby 😂

How does that work? Fewer means less. Less work, less production, less products, and less service. Two people are picking apples. One person can fell one bucket and a half. The other person can only fell one full bucket. The one that can fell a bucket and a half went on vacation. Now, only one full bucket can be produced. Am I's missing something now?

replacement or high birth rates or high immigration is required for a debt base economy to work because there has to be enough of the younger generation to pay for the entitlement promised to the older generation. the problem you have is when there is a notable population boom follow by a population decline such has was Japan is suffering and what the United States is now entering. The largest problem is that the elderly disproportionately drain governmental resources often well beyond what they paid into the system while also retaining higher wealth assets such as houses, that become to expensive for younger people to be able to afford. Even worse is that all the debt that was racked up by the older generation's choice of government becomes the younger generation's responsibility.

In response the younger generations become minimalist learning to live on less, and thus earning less, thus paying less taxes and exasperating the issue further. Minimal living also means fewer children if any. which means less people to take on debt or to open accounts at banks to allow further fractional banking. In the United States the issue is further aggravated by how much debt the baby boomers are in and how they are choosing to try and out run their debt as they dive into the grave. As they die the debt has to be absorbed by someone as often their assets do not cover the the costs of their debt. It's a big mess.

All of you blaming the immigrants are delusional! If only the poor and desperate were more poor; you'd be better off? Not one word against the rich billionaires on the planet that have hoarded up all of the planet's resources forcing people to move? 23 American billionaires now own more wealth than 3.5 billion people on the planet and you blame the desperate?!!!! The rich are playing a real life monopoly game with the Earth's resources and they now have the power to pick us to work for them to eat or reject us and put us out on the street with cup and sign in hand. When you wage war against the poor and desperate; you win nothing because that is what they have. A bunch of cowards, the lot of you!

Kudos to today's generation for figuring out there is more to life than raising children. Maybe it has some relation to the FIRE movement which while still a growing miro population, don't want to work until their mid 60's. As they say, old traditions die hard.

White people are burning out. Your birth rates are in free fall. Your being devastated by the opiate epidemic. Your suicide and incarceration rates are rising more and more. Your committing more mass shootings by the day, majority of suspects and victims are white. These are all self inflicted major problems. It's weird it's like your burning out as a people. The only other people that can harm you is other white people, you've defeated and pacified everyone else. You control most of the wealth and resources. Remember what Bane said to Batman in The Dark Knight Rises. "Victory has defeated you."-Bane

Not every woman should be a mother. If I had kids they would probably be tossed out of a window! I can't stand those things

  • ScottyTaco

Women: I only date guys that are 6 feet tall, make a 6 figure income, and do modeling.

I'm not sure why the birth rate is declining. There's PLENTY of men that want kids, would make great dads, and can afford kids. Women just don't want those guys…

  • boh7em

LOL,..now they're worried about not enough people in the U.S.?
Just make the illegal immigrants legal already. Most want to work and have families. They will feed into taxes and SS.

  • Tiger J

    Families need affordable child care.
This is one big worry for women considering having children.
In France, the government provides free daycare service and same with Quebec, Canada.

Balkan Askenar. If the white race capitulates, who is going to be there to have custody of you and take care of you? And you know in these white countries, they try to care for everybody and treat them wel, even though there is inequality. At least there is an effort to help others. Try to find that in other countries, especially in China which you seem so impressed with. Tell me, did anybody ever help you? How much do you think Chinese and Indian governments will come to your aid?

  • Will Winters

"The more educated women become, the fewer children they have"?? So, we bring in more women? So, they can be more educated? So, we're right back where we are now? Wouldn't it make more sense to get women OUT of the workplace?

  • shikb

These men are asking the wrong question. Parents don’t have children to pay taxes, SS & grow the future economy 🙄

  • Jucius Maximus

She's complaining that the low birth rate is due to lack of equal pay for women?! Looking at their chart, the highest birthrate was in the 1950 and 1960s, when most women were homemakers and men earned most of the money.

  • Janine Anderson

Fake news, the worlds population is still expected to increase by 1 billion by 2030. I always think it is strange when we want more stress and consumerism on our environment by adding more and more people.

  • Luke

My sister is physically and mentally disabled. I'm not being rude. It's a good thing my sister is smart enough to realize that she can't take care of a baby. Actually with her physical disabilities she might not be able to carry the pregnancy to full term anyway.

inner cities dont have this problem. Once they take over it will be a race to the bottom and we will look like Africa where genocide is a way of life..

  • Deus Scout

Environmental factors aside.. Are we set to be in an eventual populationless doom due to the gap between income vs cost of living being wider over the years? It seems at this rate most people in the next generation will not even have kids.

  • firstlady chosen1

Y'all blaming your low birthrates on everything except your genetics that's what it really is accept it and get over it🤷

  • Guino Tack

Low wages, high inflation, high cost of living.
Rich get rich off ffing everybody else.
Rich will push for more immigrants.

  • Jonathan Phillips

That's all you women that worship money that believe having money solves everything I can't wait till God judges you and drop you in the Lake of Fire

  • Harv Begal

Some other problems: Men are not really men anymore, and therefore unattractive. And feminists are also not attractive to what little men are actually out there. Add to this the completely slanted divorce laws and any intelligent man is going to start asking if marriage and kids is really worth it in the long run.

  • Joe Grundman

I really don't know anyone who has a child to benefit the national economy. Also, look around the world and the effects of overpopulation, climate change and how those two factors are going to affect us in ways we can't imagine. I'm just sayin'…

  • Claudia Bothner

What about supporting good nutrition, support for concerned women so they don't all do abortions improving the support for health improvement and -preparation for mothers-to-be, delivery routines and mother care, as well as quitting the unnecessary vaccines on the infants ?

  • orlock20

High cost of living mixed with low growth in mid income and high wage jobs. Wages have stagnated for decades. so the common person doesn't see economic growth.

  • kristintheartist

The oldest man in the room thinks he knows what’s going through the minds of young women—creepy and weird. BTW newscasters, your yelling at the viewers and bragging about all the kids you can afford to raise is a huge turnoff—note the 50 percent thumbs down.

  • Abdullahi Ahmed

If every girl give birth what her grandmother give birth we will be fine Otherwise u need to bring people from another countries , even European countries have same problems .

  • ThePatriots010304

The elephant in the room is that there’s very little incentive for men to marry and have kids with women today. Our gynocentric society places little value on men so we’re just going our own way(MGTOW)and doing our own thing.

  • Bear 20

I am not having kids for these reasons:
1.) the economy right now and financial status simply wont allow for it, i could but i would struggle and id rather not struggle with a child it would be bad for me and the kid.
2.) Women almost always win custody in a courtroom over the kids .
3.) there really isn't an incentive for it, back in the days when living on the farm having 10 kids made alot of sense, more hands on the farm but we simply don't live in that age anymore
4.) they are money drains, i rather not have to pay for the lifetime diapers, college tuition, food, clothes, etc.

  • proamerican freedomfighteranticop

I mean can u blame us guys court system rigged against us jobs rigged to favor women schools allow more women to join not men single men pay more in taxes and pay higher car insurerance i mean being a guy is more difficult then being a women so u claimed to want equality yet its been 30 to 40yrs since feminism took over politics and media yet men have not benefited not even once from this system

  • sjcharles1

There is a big problem with low sperm count and fertility issues in western nations which needs to be addressed and not swept under the table.

  • David Huang

Well, not the worst thing on the planet. Kid is expensive, save that money and go travel the world and enjoy the finest this planet can offer.

  • Gorgeous Lady

    Mexicans have more kids than
    Anybody!. If a Mexican is
    Eating dirt and rocks!.
    They will still have kids!.
    The kids have to suffer
    And eat dirt and rocks
