Learning Begins at Birth
A baby is growing up while doing ATM? Wonderful !!!!!
I am Nobuo , a Feldenkrais practitioner in Japan.
Thank you for this! I LOVED it! Best Feldenkrais video I've seen.
Oh, so beautiful! Thank you! I'm expecting my own master teacher to be born any day now, and looking forward to exploring all of this and more with the little one (and sharing what I learn with my Feldenkrais students!)
Reminds me of last Sunday morning 😉
Love the video Jenn. Fantastic!
This is beautifuland I am surprised by how much it moved me. A friend who has studied Feldenkrais sent me the link and now I am interested in learning more.
Again…Thanks to EVERYONE and ALL who have commented on this clip and the project! Irene.
FANTASTIC! This is a perfect demonstration of the unrestricted movement and natural gross motor development recommended for infants and toddlers by infant expert Magda Gerber. I write about her approach — trusting infants to explore and play like this baby does, autonomously…independently. Children raised this way are graceful, poised, agile, self-confident.
@janetlansbury HI Janet – thanks! I just posted a little snippet of "Replicating Magda Gerber" on my channel. Irene. Many feldenkrais training will use the Gerber vid of "see how the move". In my training we watched it on our first day or training, and then on our last day 4 years later to see all the developmental milestones we as adults had explored!
@irenegutteridge Hi Irene! Would you allow me to post this on my site? I will give you full credit, of course! I'm going to go look at your Magda Gerbe one now..
I'm so glad you are doing this!!!! 🙂
@irenegutteridge Hi Janet
Yup, you may. Feel free to check out our DONATE page and considering making a contribution to the project which will go to developing Baby LIv Part 2 and the next component of foundations, THe Martial Arts.
beautiful and inspiring.
This was a movement by a pro =) thats a amazing clip
@indorolfer it's meant to symbolize teaching your body to move for the first time =P
Whats wrong with her skin? Shes beautiful by the way!
That is so cute! 😀
Simply awesome, in every sense of the word
This may be the best vid on youtube!
It's great! Really hope you will succeed in this project, look forward to see the other videos!
Yes! And these are also the foundations of Bartenieff Fundamentals! Thanks so much for sharing this inspirational video!

HELLO, MEMBER CHANNEL INVITATION
That is so lovely! 🙂
Oh my goodness, this is priceless!
So cool to see this after all those months of dropping in to film Liv.
This is a beautiful video of the simplicity of our earliest movement patterns. BRAVO!
Miren que hermoso! a su tiempo y sin gimnasios, ni mantas, nada… paciencia y respeto.
Thanks for making this Irene! I'm about to do a talk with powerpoint on Feldenkrais and this video is so useful and artistically done. Thanks for your work!
"Children raised this way are graceful…" -children are graceful, period. Besides, Magda Gerber aside, have you seen anyone "restraining the natural movements of their chid? Learning from unsocialised beings on the other hand (children, autistes, seers, animals..) : yes!
i love her smile when she finally rolled! she's so proud! Thank you for posting this video.
Thanks for sharing the video. I am currently working on a duet and would like to use use the text as instructions.
Is this ok for you?
Of course, just please credit the clip if you can!
I believe she has taught me how to begin to get my movement back!! As the Bible tells us "from the mouths of babes"!!
Thank you for posting and she is a beautiful "DollBaby".
that surface is much too hard for a baby's head, couldn't she at least be on the carpet?
Actually, at that age, a child's skull is incredibly soft and as capable of withstanding the support of the floor. The firmer contact is what enables her movement capacity.
Ok thank you. I will do so. Your name is Irene Lyon right?
All the best
thank you for sharing, her smile is priceless!!! beautiful to watch this unrestricted movement,
Haha, someone sent me here to learn how to baby roll. That kid's form is immaculate! 😀
Yes, she is pretty darn good at it isn't she?!
If you give them the space to move and explore – it happens.
This is what I teach my students, but as adults. Perfect way to "cure" back pain and many other aches and pains.
BABY LIV FOR PRESIDENT!
WE WANT BABY LIV!
Hi Irene, really amazing video. How old (in months) was Liv when you shot the video?
Hi Leonardo – she ranged from 3 months (if my memory if correct) and into 10 months. It was about a 7 months period. So you are seeing clips that are edited together from a 7 month period. glad you liked it. Make sure you watch the crawling one as well. Irene.
AMAZING reminder of the wisdom of our bodies! And Yes I love her big bright smile too when she finally rolls over! Yeah!
thank you for this beautifull video! precious!!!
This is brilliant!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE this.
Are you working on more videos of Baby Liv? I hate to miss seeing her beautiful growth and babyhood. Please do more! She epitomizes the full potential of the happy human animal.
My baby is trying to copy her while I'm holding him….. she's adorable and I did this with both of them just because tummy time felt wrong.
This one of my favourite baby videos ever. Is it ok for me to post it on my facebook page? I will of course give all credit to you.
this baby is sooo adorable <3
Hi! When did baby Liv began to lay on the floor? I have a 3 months old baby, and started out this week, sometimes I see he feels a little uncomfortable… guess patience and comprehension must be my ally!
Lindamente livre para explorar!
-Go figure!!. Who would have guessed that we can re-learn how to gracefully move our bodies by mimicking a baby's learning curve.
Amazing!!!! I was just looking for a video that could check where body movements arises to make the turns of "rollido" side in the style crawl (freestyle) swimming. This video check sequence suitable finishing for a swimmer to achieve excellence in the art of balance to swim from one side to another. Thanks for your input
