False Labor vs. True Labor – Childbirth Education

Hi, my name is Wendy Nichols. I’m a registered nurse and the childbirth instructor for Signature Medical Group. Today we’re gonna talk about labor: false labor vs. true labor Braxton Hicks contractions, otherwise known as false labor are a tightening sensation or contractions that are happening only in the front of your abdomen you’ll feel a balling up sensation they are usually painless; they don’t have a consistent pattern to them and they will go away with changes in activity If you’re having 4 or more contractions an hour, then we might move into true labor we’ll go through that next Otherwise you can do some things to help alleviate…

Childbirth Environment : Labor Pain Relief: Water

So, another thing to think about when you’re wondering what the best birth environment is for you, is water. Water is a natural muscle relaxant, so it’s a really, really important thing. There’s, water can be used in different ways. Sometimes just the sound of water can be relaxing, so think about maybe a small desk fountain, something like that, where you just hear the sound of trickling water. Also, putting on a nature CD that has the sound of water, that can immediately just relax a person. So, one of the ways to deal with labor pains is water. Water is a natural muscle relaxant, so get in the…

Childbirth Environment : Labor Pain Relief: Music & Sound

So another thing that comes up when women are thinking about birth environment are music and sound. When we think of sound, it can just be sounds of nature so sometimes just walking outside in your backyard can nice. So it can be really nice, you just get outside and enjoy nature and listen to the sounds. You can hear the birds sing, you can hear the wind through the trees. If you have a hammock or something like that, sit in the hammock, relax, let yourself just be taken over by labor. Also if you have kind of an outdoor seating area, anyplace that might be comfortable, you can…

Pain Free Supernatural Childbirth – Our First Daughter

Hi, everybody. So I prayed for a supernatural childbirth without pain and that’s what happened. So come on over here and sit down with me and I’ll tell you how it went. We’ve talked about this in an earlier video, about supernatural childbirth, but I wanted to go through the specifics of how it happened with our first daughter. In the very beginning, when I found out I was pregnant, it was like, “Yay, we’re going to have a baby.” And then it was like, “Oh my gosh, we’re going to have a baby, which means I’m going to have to probably push that baby out of there.” And that’s…

Childbirth Environment : Childbirth Environment: New Brain Function

So when we’re talking about birthing environments, not only is our old brain important but we need to focus on the fact of our new brain too. So our new brain is what controls our thinking and our logic. It’s what makes it possible to think and to function as homo sapiens. That’s what makes humans different from other mammals, is that we have the new brain, which makes thought process. That is a good thing of course but it can be a bad thing in labor because when we let our new brain work too hard, when we think too much, we can repress our instincts and repress what…

The Worst Parts of Childbirth • Wine Mom

(happy Italian folk music) – Hi, I’m Hannah. Your friendly neighborhood wine mom and if you’re anything like me, you believe that a glass of wine at eight p.m. makes you a better mom. So, pour yourself a glass and let’s talk. Tonight we’re drinking red wine. This is what I like to call grown-up wine. And I always drink this wine when I’m around other adults and trying to be an adult and I’m like, (sniffs) “Mmm, yes this is a great red,” but it’s actually like kind of strong and kind of intense. Like tonight’s topic. Tonight we’re gonna talk about the worst parts of childbirth. You thought…

In my ball, no joking. *BEEP* So the other day I was scrolling through the internet, as I do and I came across a video of a lady and her partner and the lady has strapped this guy up to a labor pain machine and was letting him know what it’s like to have a baby. Now I’ve… *scary music* never had a baby *baby cry* as you can probably imagine, neither has Connor here. Connor: Hmmm…. Joe: Connor’s probably got children out there. Connor: Oh I’ve dabbled, I’ve dabbled, just a bit.…
