Newborn Care: Reach Baby Milestones with Playtime Bonding

[MUSIC PLAYING] I love playing with his little toes. We play games like this little piggy went to the market. And I would count his little fingers or draw a clown face by tracing the outlines of his face with my finger. He was around five weeks old when I saw his first smile. And it wasn’t too long after that that he was able to interact with me, which was so great. We would play peek-a-boo and giggle at each other.

Baby Safety: Baby Proofing Your Home | Pampers

So today is the day I’m finally going to conquer the babyproofing. We went shopping. I’m going to attempt to protect Leo from the dangers of our home. You can go a little overboard with some of this babyproofing. Whatever. You’re going to have the kid who like dresses in a bubble. You’re going to have the bubble kid. No. Bubble boy? No. He may always be in pants. I don’t want bubble boy. And a helmet. Oh my god. What is wrong with you? And knee pads. [MUSIC PLAYING] Do you want help? Big step. Are you ready to go? As a dad now, I feel very protective over…

A Parent is Born: Giving Birth Preparation – Episode 9 | Pampers

[MUSIC PLAYING] I don’t know. The birth is right around the corner. And the number one thing in my head is how the hell are we’re going to pull this one off? Is she going to be comfortable? I worry about postpartum depression. Is she going to be pain free? I’m really worried about money. Really the financial burden. What have I bought lately that I can return? I definitely worry about that late at night. [MUSIC PLAYING] [TICKING] You sit there and watch the clock. It makes it worse. And I’m doing the same thing to myself, just thinking I should be storing up sleep. And I can’t sleep…

A Parent is Born: Childbirth Educator – Episode 8 | Pampers

Today we’re going to meet with our birth instructor who is going to help us deal with the birth process and get us prepared for other birth options. I think I was a little bit guarded against birth preparation or what have you, because I had always felt like I was just going to get to the hospital and demand the epidural right away. [THEME MUSIC] Susie, nice to meet you. I’ve heard so much about you. Welcome. Welcome. Hi, how are you? Good. How are you? Good to meet you guys. Good to meet you. I believe that couples can have the birth that they want, although they have…

Creative Pregnancy Announcement Ideas | Pampers

So when my husband came home, I had the laptop just sitting on our counter open, rolling, so that he wouldn’t know anything was going on. Sit down right here. How’s your chip? Come here. I went to a little cupcake shop. He always stops there and gets me a cupcake if I’ve had a bad day. So it was special to us. I had them write on there, can’t wait to meet you in October, dad. My dad’s coming over there? [LAUGHTER] And I was like, oh my goodness, really? Anyways, I said, read it again, honey. So he kept reading it and finally he just looked at me.…

    Parenting Tips: A Natural Childbirth

Being able to have a natural childbirth was the most amazing, beautiful, wonderful experience I could ever have dreamed of and imagined. It certainly wasn’t easy. It was so worth it. And I was so aware of what was going on with him and in my body, and I was so in tune with it. I experienced the whole thing. I wasn’t in a daze going through it. And he came out healthy and alert, and we were able to start bonding immediately. It was just incredible. I had gone through this pregnancy teacher’s training course and learned so much and decided that I really wanted to opt for a…

Newborn Care: How to Hold a Newborn Baby

[MUSIC PLAYING] Yeah, I hadn’t held a newborn in a while. And I was surprised how unsteady he was at first. I had to fully support his head and neck until he developed the strength to hold it up by himself. I found that just cradling his head in the bend of my arm or with my hand worked as a comfortable position.

Hospital Bag & Essentials Checklist for Your Newborn Baby

[MUSIC PLAYING] Now a couple of weeks before your due date, it’s a good idea to pack your hospital bag so you’re all ready to go when the time comes. Check with your doctor to see how many nights you expect to be in the hospital. And aside from the personal items and clothing you’ll need for yourself, there are a few things you really need to remember for your new baby– weather-appropriate onesies plus an outfit for them to wear home from the hospital, burp cloths and bibs to help clean up the spit up. Pacifier– babies have a strong sucking reflex. And a pacifier can help soothe them.…

    Newborn Care: Umbilical Cord Care

The umbilical cord just fell off by itself after a couple of weeks. But before it did, we kept it dry mainly by keeping the diaper from covering it. Our doctor recommended we swab it with alcohol every few days to clean it. Be sure to check with your doctor to get their recommendation. Now, if the cord becomes smelly, oozing, or mushy, you should see your doctor right away.
