Jerard Washington1 second agothat is correct so tell the news to stop showing negative things everyday about black people committing crimes. because if you remove it from the program all news caster would lose their jobs. "Those who control the media, controls the minds" PS all white people are not bad, those who have been doing evil things do come in many colors.

Even a dog or rat will fight a human back if pushed too hard. White racism creates black hate….Youtube the video called "The hate that hate produced"".

  • Dwayne Dotcom

How convenient, a slave movie just in time when the rifts between blacks and whites couldn't be greater. Propaganda at its best. Divide and conquer.

  • Roasty Toasty

Already tell that the blacks are gonna win or whatever because its 2016 white people never win apparently.

  • John Johnson

There is a time when people would rather believe the lies and propaganda than the facts. This is a film based on zero facts and all symbolism to divide and increase division. Read your history books gentleman before its to late

  • randal varry

don't forget back in Africa tribes enslaved and engaged in slavery of rival tribe members and muslims engaged in slavery and slave trade. these facts must be included in any slavery discussion. can't forget history now can we.

  • Bryan Rockafella

There was a rebellion after this that history has forgotten it was between runaway slaves who teamed up with Seminoles to fight the US government

I see a lot of comments from people thinking that America's wealth came from slavery. The opposite is true.

The south was the POOR HALF. The FREE north was the much wealthier half (slavery, by nature, kills innovation (no incentive when labor is "free"). The south's slave owners were mainly white and black guys sitting on their ass, no one having any reason to use their brain. Everyone else was relatively poor.

You've been tricked by the media and politicians. If you really care about the truth, I suggest Stefan Molyneux's videos on slavery. He has a doctorate in history, and meticulously cites everything.

Don't be a pawn. Don't let your emotions or lazy thinking trump reason and evidence.

Nate Parker is a RAPIST. He can say he was aquitted and that's he's a Christian but that doesn't change what happened. I believe his victim and I am heartbroken she took her own life. Men need to understand that for women rape isn't something that's in the past – this man ruined her life! I will not see Nate Parker's movie no matter how good the reviews are or what awards it wins. He's a rapist and we can punish him by not supporting his career.

ironic this film gets approved in a time of civil injustice in america..pushing the agenda of civil war ..fueling it

People who are complaining need to take several seats. So we can endure a black comedy Christmas movie every year but we can't learn the true facts of why we should be even lucky to be alive due to our ancestors who went through this. Children were beaten and killed to use for bait. Little children were slaves to other little children. This is the reality of the situation and you better embrace it rather than blind yourself from the truth

I don't hate anyone it is a waste of too much energy….any one who hate a color or a person's color is absolutely insane. This world would be a great place to live if people would just respect one another….something as simple as that. However with that said I can understand that hate produces hate and violence produces violence. Watch the documentary called The Hate that Produced Hate.

Most white people are still going to condemn this man either way guilty or not.
but i just finished reading the alleged rape case and this man Nate Parker is innocent and did nothing wrong even the accuser admitted that the sex between them two was concentual. But Im still not sure about her and the other guy.

  • Leone Gerliech

We know from the investigation that Nate Parker asked his two buddies to
join in on the rape when the girl was unconcious. That has best buddy
joined him in the rape and the other guy said he realized it was wrong
and wouldn't participate. Then we have evidence of how Nate Parker
and his friend continued to target this woman after the case.

i don't see how anyone can support Nate Parker now. I don't see how he
will ever get another acting part in Hollywood as he will damage any
film by his reputation. He clearly does not feel sorry or has repented
for what he did to make this woman commit suicide. It is over for
    him.

Dear Hollywood, some of us recognize your attempts to manipulate the masses with race hating movies. We recognize the attempt to stir up anger during this so called tense time in America and that u see race protesting, and division as a necessary tool to spark your chaos. Therefore, i will not be going to see this movie. thank you

Nat Turner and his vigilantes. No difference than the KKK. The same breed. Cut from the same mold. Although they had every reason to kill their captors, their slave owners, they did the most monstrous thing imaginable. First they killed the man so that the wife and children would suffer while watching. Then they killed the wife and mother's so that the children would suffer while watching. Then they killed the children in horrible ways. That's when the KKK started in retaliation.

  • Don Logan

The movie is unfortunate in some respects, in that it will take a terrible period in American History, and magnify it on the big screen to make an entire group of human beings appear utterly despicable and beyond redemption. This to justify their wanton slaughter, i.e. killing of men women and children. Was slavery bad-absolutely. However then as well as now there were always people from all walks of life who were vehemently opposed to human bondage e.g. John Brown and dedicated their lives and even lost their lives so that it ended.

  • MrSnow1961

More anti white propaganda by Hollywood communists to incite more violence by dumb blacks against whites. How many more movies like this do we need?

  • FrecklyCash1488

MORE ANTI WHITE PROPAGANDA coming from the septic tank of hollywood and the blacktivists. Even the actor that played the role of Nat Turner has sexually assaulted a white women with his roommate.

Nat Turner's legacy can be summarized him murdering every white person in site including 7 white school children with his black gang. DESPICABLE. Nat Turner was justly hanged for his atrocious slaughters of innocent whites. The only just killing was of his slave masters.

  • kkisLIT itsLIT

just like in the song timmy timmy turner it says kill every body walking just like the white pepole did in the movie till he turned his self in and the end of the movie then they hung him

The Forgotten European Slaves of Barbary North Africa and Ottoman Turkey. Turkish Slavery
The Ottoman penetration into Europe in the 1350s and their capture of Constantinople later in 1453 opened new floodgates for slave-trade from the European front. In their last attempt to overrun Europe in 1683, the Ottoman army, although defeated, returned from the Gates of Vienna with 80,000 captives.874 An immense number of slaves flowed from the Crimea, the Balkans and the steppes of West Asia to Islamic markets. BD Davis laments that the ‘‘Tartars and other Black Sea peoples had sold millions of Ukrainians, Georgians, Circassians, Greeks, Armenians, Bulgarians, Slavs and Turks,’’ which received little notice.875 Crimean Tatars enslaved and sold some 1,750,000 Ukrainians, Poles and Russian between 1468 and 1694. 876 According to another estimate, between 1450 and 1700, the Crimean Tatars exported some 10,000 slaves, including some Circassians, annually—that is, some 2,500,000 slaves in all, to the Ottoman Empire.877 The Tatar slave-raiding Khans returned with 18,000 slaves from Poland (1463), 100,000 from Lvov (1498), 60,000 from South Russia (1515), 50,000–100,000 from Galicia (1516), during the ‘harvesting of the steppe.’ Numbers from Moscow (1521), 800,000 were taken and from Valynia (1676), 400,000 were taken. 800,000 from Moscow (1521), 200,000 from South Russia (1555), 100,000 from Moscow (1571), 50,000 from Poland (1612), 60,000 from South Russia (1646), 100,000 from Poland (1648), 300,000 from Ukraine (1654), 400,000 from Valynia (1676) and thousands from Poland (1694). Besides these major catches, they made countless more Jihad raids during the same period, which yielded a few to tens of thousands of slaves.878 These figures of enslavement must be considered in the context that the population of the Tatar Khanate was only about 400,000 at the time. (1463-1694) while sources are incomplete, conservative tabulation of the slave raids against the Eastern European population indicate that at least 7 Million European people-men, women, children were enslaved by Muslims. Sources suggest that in the few years between 1436-1442, some 500,000 people were seized in the Balkans. Many of the captives died in forced marches towards Anatolia (Turkey). Contemporary chronicles note that the Ottomans reduced masses of the inhabitants of Greece, Romania, and the Balkans to slavery,eg from Moree (1460)70,000 and Transylvania (1438) – 60,000-70,000 and 300,000-600,000 from Hungary and 10,000 from Mytilene/Mitilini on Lesbos island (1462) (Bulgaru p 567) and so it continued. The vicious destruction of Constantinople in 1453 shows the religious zeal of the Muslims, their hatred of Christians, massacres, destruction and pillage and of course, the enslavement of 50,000-60,000 people! Turkoman Archer massacre, enslavement, exile, destruction of farming, destruction of trade, depopulation, reduced productivity, and destruction of the normal exchange of knowledge around the Mediterranean and through Christian and Jewish societies, plus colonization by Muslims—as also occurred in the conquest of Asia Minor. The states of Byzantium, Bulgaria, Serbia…had reached a high level of economic and cultural development before the Muslim attacks. The conquest of the Balkan peoples was disastrous and for centuries trammeled their normal economic and social development. Yet its described as a blessing for the population (they had the chance to become Muslim) and we are fed lies of peace and economic unity. The Turks did not have a higher culture or better civic organisation they were semi-barbarian tribes bent of pillage and war, enriching themselves with booty.(estates, slaves, money, jewels) and rendered fanatical by the dogmas of Islam Even a brief look at the date list in the slavery series, shows the violence and oppression by the Muslims! Byzantine historian Georgius Pachymeres, a contemporary of the events in the 1262-82 invasion north of the meander, (Paphlagonia, Caria in Asia Minor) described the ruination of towns and monasteries, the fleeing population and the conversion of land into a Scythian desert. He notes indiscriminate massacres, large scale enslavement, the merciless crushing of any resistance and the death of the entire male population where people refused to surrender. The 14th century Ottoman state had only a rudimentary economy with underdeveloped commerce and trades and money was rare. Enslavement served to weaken nations as populations were depleted and moved. Mass enslavement are documented. The remaining populations were severely exploited peasants who labored for others and were subjected to excessive taxes and fines. Similarly artisans were needed so, despite the routine massacres and deportations, the military was used to stop people fleeing and force them to remain. Barbary Coast Slavery Ohio State University history Professor Robert Davis describes the White Slave Trade as minimized by most modern historians in his book Christian Slaves, Muslim Masters: White Slavery in the Mediterranean, the Barbary Coast and Italy, 1500–1800 (Palgrave Macmillan). Davis estimates that 1 million to 1.25 million white Christian Europeans were enslaved in North Africa, from the beginning of the 16th century to the middle of the 18th, by slave traders from Tunis, Algiers, and Tripoli alone (these numbers do not include the European people which were enslaved by Morocco and by other raiders and traders of the Mediterranean Sea coast), 16th and 17th-century customs statistics suggest that Istanbul's additional slave import from the Black Sea may have totaled around 2.5 million from 1450 to 1700. The markets declined after the loss of the Barbary Wars and finally ended in the 1830s, when the region was conquered by France. Hundreds of thousands of Europeans were captured by Barbary pirates and sold as slaves in North Africa and the Ottoman Empire between the 16th and 19th centuries. These slave raids were conducted largely by Arabs and Berbers rather than Ottoman Turks. However, during the height of the Barbary slave trade in the 16th and 17th centuries, the Barbary states were subject to Ottoman jurisdiction and ruled by Ottoman pashas. Furthermore, many slaves captured by the Barbary corsairs were sold eastward into Ottoman territories before, during, and after Barbary's period of Ottoman rule. The Barbary Muslim pirates kidnapped Europeans from ships in North Africa’s coastal waters (Barbary Coast). They also attacked and pillaged the Atlantic coastal fishing villages and town in Europe, enslaving the inhabitants. Villages and towns on the coast of Italy, Spain, Portugal and France were the hardest hit. Muslim slave-raiders also seized people as far afield as Britain, Ireland and Iceland. In 1544, the island of Ischia off Naples was ransacked, taking 4,000 inhabitants prisoners, while some 9,000 inhabitants of Lipari Island off the north coast of Sicily were enslaved.870 Turgut Reis, a Turkish pirate chief, ransacked the coastal settlements of Granada (Spain) in 1663 and carried away 4,000 people as slaves. In 1625, Barbary pirates captured the Lund Island in the Bristol Channel and planted the standard of Islam. From this base, they went ransacking and pillaging surrounding villages and towns, causing a stunning spectacle of mayhem, slaughter and plunder. According to Milton, ‘Day after day, they struck at unarmed fishing communities, seizing the inhabitants, and burning their homes. By the end of the dreadful summer of 1625, the mayor of Plymouth reckoned that 1,000 skiffs had been destroyed and similar number of villagers carried off into slavery.’871 Between 1609 and 1616, the Barbary pirates ‘captured a staggering 466 English trading ships.’ In 1627, Pirates went on a pillaging and enslaving campaign to Iceland. After dropping anchor at Reykjavik, his forces ransacked the town and returned with 400 men, women and children and sold them in Algiers. In 1631, he made a voyage with a brigand of 200 pirates to the coast of Southern Ireland and ransacked and pillaged the village of Baltimore, carrying away 237 men, women and children to Algiers. The barbaric slave-raiding activities of the Muslim pirates had a telling effect on Europe. France, England, and Spain lost thousands of ships, devastating to their sea-borne trade. Long stretches of the coast in Spain and Italy were almost completely abandoned by their inhabitants until the nineteenth century. The finishing industry was virtually devastated. Paul Baepler’s White Slaves, African Masters: An Anthology of American Barbary Captivity Narratives lists a collection of essays by nine American captives held in North Africa. According to his book, there were more than 20,000 white Christian slaves by 1620 in Algiers alone; their number swelled to more than 30,000 men and 2,000 women by the 1630s. There were a minimum of 25,000 white slaves at any time in Sultan Moulay Ismail’s palace, records Ahmed ez-Zayyani; Algiers maintained a population of 25,000 white slaves between 1550 and 1730, and their numbers could double at certain times. During the same period, Tunis and Tripoli each maintained a white slave population of about 7,500. The Barbary pirates enslaved some 5,000 Europeans annually over a period of nearly three centuries

The world WAS a better, healthier and safer place back then. And we let them free and look what happened; Crime is up/ cities are not safe/cities that were safe & pretty became unsafe dirty ghettos, baby mama on welfare because the father do not support their kidS and/or are in jail (we tax payers are paying) and NEED I GO ON! • Michael Woodhead

Please watch Morgan Freedman's interview "Morgan Freeman on Black History Month"

My God, how much more rioting and black lives matter violence do we need?

Imagine the white community and black community as a two neighbors. One day the white neighbor went over and killed the black neighbors dog. The white neighbor grew increasingly sorry for what he had done and eventually apologized. Unfortunately though the black neighbor was so distraught over the death of his dog that he would regularly look at pictures of the bloody mangled dog. As a result it took much longer for the black neighbor to forgive his white neighbor for the atrocity.

If we constantly remind ourselves of the brutality that occurred with slavery we can't move forward and forgive white people.

I don't know how black Americans put up with these slavery movies? No wonder why many of them can't think of an identity beyond slavery and its consequences. But serious, we here in the Caribbean are sick of slavery movies especially the concept that Black people could not help themselves and had to wait on the 'White Man' to save us. That's why a group of us are doing films that focus on Mali Kingdom and Mansa Musa, Queen Amanirena and her bravery against the invasion of Emperor Augustus army in Nubia, and one of Ancient Africa's greatest scholar, Ahmed, who survived a muslim invasion on the Songhai kingdom.

Strange fruit sung by Nina Simone And then that bembé rythm at the drums calling the uprising. Definitely , the most powerful trailer i've seen this year. Got me speechless and tongue-tied.

  • Cameron Kanachki

I thought that this was a great film, but it could've been better if it had a better African-American writer/director (like John Singleton, Spike Lee, or Ava DuVernay), & a better lead actor, like Anthony Mackie or Chadwick Boseman. Parker's direction & performance were both good, but I believe they would have been handled better with a more accomplished African-American director & African-American actor.

  • Lisa Sweet

African Americans havent learn yet they just show these movies to anger you. like tightening a chain of a pittbull. Stop falling for this. We do not know what happrn during slavery. There was history before and after slavery. Stop letting the the people who run the media get you piss, its all propaganda to opress your mind. There r agentz online to commenting to hype up and keep African Americand angry.

  • Travis Payne

Excellent movie. Nat Turner rebelled against oppression when he was Aline and his memory brought to the movie screen keeps the rebellion alive.

  • Steffen AM

It´s a good movie, and it´s a shame that it took so long until movies about this cruel history of America were made. No reason to feel as the greatest nation on earth! Like my country should remember the crimes against the Jews, America should remember their crimes against Native Americans and African Americans.
